HELLO PRIME!!! THE REASON THAT LSU IS IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IS BECAUSE MIZZU COULDN'T BEAT OKLA IN THE BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP. LSU BEAT TENN IN THE SEC SHIP AND WV LOST TO SORRY butt PITT!!!! NOBODY STEPPED UP AND PROVED THEMSELVES THIS WEEKEND BUT LSU. PLUS, BECAUSE THE GAME IS BEING PLAYED IN NEW ORLEANS, NOBODY ELSE WOULD HAVE DREW A BETTER CROWD. AND SECONDLY, O STATE HAVE BEEN IDLE FOR THREE WEEKS, SO IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN FAIR TO PLACE ANYBODY ELSE AT NUMBER ONE OTHER THAN THEM. SO GO BUCKEYES!!! AND MICHIGAN IS GOING TO GET DESTROYED BY FLORIDA. I'LL TAKE ANY BETS.

How the heck is LSU number #2. They barely beat the #14 team by 7. Oklahoma beat the #1 team by so much, but they are only #4? Get the heck outta here. LSU is garbage. I hope Ohio State wins by 30+ points and I don't even like them. If you wanted a winner of a championship game, why not Oklahoma or USC? Then on top of it all Kansas and Georgia drops after they didnt even play. WOW

The reasoning I've been hearing for LSU moving back up into contention is that even though they had 2 losses both games were lost after 3 overtimes in each game( I believe that's accurate). I agree that the BCS needs to be done away with and a playoff system implemented so that a team that goes undefeated(Hawaii) can have a chance at a national title despite their "weak" conference. The best way to see if a team is legit is to put them up against the big boys and let them prove themselves worthy on the field.

Sad to say this is probably as much sanity as the polls and the BCS can muster in a chaotic season. If a team would have just stepped up and won all their games this would not be a discussion. As it is, I believe that the Coaches poll led the way with what they felt were the two best teams in the country. I think they got it right with the exception of Kansas.
If you say OSU backed into the game, look at LSU that went from 7 to 2! That being said I still believe they were deserving of the pick. I dont think any of the notables did enough to get the bid, including USC, Missouri, Kansas, WVa., I will say this though, watch out 2009 with Oklahoma, LSU, and OSU all being young teams.

Coach Clark, what is your opinion on Hawaii? They won all their games, but just cracked the top 10. Do you think they deserve a shot, or does their schedule dictate otherwise?

You hit it Ads71, it was the schedule. June, has a scary good team that was penalized by a weak schedule. Almost everyone ranked them #10. The problem with playing Hawaii is jet lag, put your kids in a plane for that long trip to paradise and theyre brains are not on football for that trip! Long story short, it's the schedule and that's all.
As far as a BCS, slot, it's not an attractive draw because how many fans will follow them to games. It's all about tickets. LSU/OSU= ticket sales. UM/Florida- ticket sales. Hawaii/Georgia=?

That's why they need a playoff system. Even in a team had to travel cross country or even to Hawaii they could leave early enough to shake off the jet lag. Or, have any playoff games at a neutral sight.

I don't think that it's fair LSU being in the Championship, but it does make for a great football game. We need to all go to Columbus and buckle is up and give O State same action before the game. I hope they are hitting, scrimmaging or doing whatever it takes to stay football ready. This may sound stupid , but when I played I never wanted wanted to be fresh at the end of the season. I wanted to still feel the bumps and bruises, because it let me know that it was still football season. I hope they're beating each other up a little bit. I will say this about the Bowl season it's going to be some good action out there so be as kind and sweet or whatever you have to do for your wives and girlfriends or however you float (ha ha) so the you can enjoy the game with the fellas , it's always been the highlight of for me. Go Gophers! My bad I forgot we only won 1 game !

YOU GOTTA LOOK AT LSU'S STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE. YEAH MIZZOU WAS NUMBER 1, BUT THE BIG 12 WASN'T NEARLY AS STRONG AS THE SEC. LSU IS PHYSICAL AS PISS, AND IT'S GONNA BE ANOTHER REPEAT OF THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OF LAST YEAR, ANOTHER LOPSIDED butt WHOOPING THAT OHIO STATE IS GOING TO TAKE, LSU IS TO darn FAST AND GOOD. YOU JUST HAVE TO GIVE THE BID TO OHIO STATE, BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAD ONE LOSS IN THE CONFERENCE.
P.S.-SORRY COACH CLARK, DIDN'T MEAN TO DIS YOUR BUCKEYES!

Mizzou was actually an underdog going into their title game even though they held the #1 ranking. I believe that's the first time in history that's happened.
