well , I don't disagree with the hiring me being a WVU man, Mich needed a coach like Rich. He can relate to the kids and I don't think Michigan will ever lower their academic standards so getting all the Best Metro Area Talent is still out. With the Mich logo and its proud history and that awesome offense that Rich runs wow the sky is the limit for Rich. I just feel bad for Ryan Mallet, Who should now transfer!!!! Hopefully Mich get Terrell Pryor, add that back from Texas Mcduffie and guest what U of M is back in Business. I don't know how traditional Mich fans will take the new offense, but if I've learned anything in this short life of mine its winning cures all.

Mallett will thrive in this wide open offensive attack. Mitch, he does have michigan ties thru 6 degrees of seperation. Terrell pryor would be a welcome addition to Rod's system. For those who have not seen this kid, He's sh!ttin on Vince Young. Youtube him. Also, vic get at me on the phone... This DE we used to know who moved to NY is now a WCW. He lookin to get in touch with you.

Boubacar Cissoko & Kenny Demens are both from Detroit. Both are 08 recruits committed to U of M.

The inner city Detroit kids are not as talented as they once were. Actually what I should say is that everybody else is catching up to them. It use to be all the recruits came from the east side of the state. Now people are recruiting Lansing as well as the west side of the state like Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland.
I could care less if Mallet does leave. He didn't show me much. I know he is a Frosh. but so was Henne when he started. And Mallet also graduated early so he could enrole early at UofM. So its not like he missed all of spring ball.

is it my family he's home LOL ;D make me wanna come back home. Ill hit you up. Also I like Mallet but I dont think he's a threat to run no where but to teh sideline and get the play. Granted he did take off this season but when the other team is playing man The QB is wide open. Dont think he'll be effective in the spread that Rich runs

Vic is right Rich Rodriguez needs a Qb that can run. Which means Mallet does not fit. And the number 1 recruit is a fast QB . So if Michigan does get him I would not be surprised if he eventually passes Mallet. I'm curious if Rich is also bringing the 3-3-5? The thing that Michigan needs for Rich's offense to work is speed. Which we do not seem to have a lot of. And Rich needs to find a RB now to that fits this style. I do not know about the guys Michigan has.

Michigan has speed. Don't be stupid and listen to the commentators. Look for yourself. How can you continually have top 10 recruiting classes with no speed?
You do not HAVE to have a fast QB to run the spread. Look at Texas, who runs the zone read style of offense. They are obviously not going to run all the same plays with McCoy that they would if they still had Vince Young. But when he graduates, they have all kinds of speed at the QB position behind him.
And as far as the backs go, they will be fine. Not all of WVU's backs were burners. If you know anything about Owen Schmidt you will see that a beast in the backfield can help as well. Or even look at how Beanie Wells did in the same offense last season for OSU. I think Grady will fit in fine. But you still have McGuffie coming in who is the Noel Devine of this years class.
Sure would be nice to get Terrell Pryor though.

I think this is a nice higher, but that 3-3-5 in the big ten just dont seem right to me... But if English stays and his defensive philosophies and Rich's offensive we could be working with something

Well, he has shown that he will match his talent that he has to a system that works for them. He does adapt to the talent level he has. So like any other change, he has to get his kind of players into what he wants to do and that will take time. Overall it is a good hire and i am so sick and tired of watching carr and his predictable broken record pathology.

Don't forget Alex Smith(mobile), he was one of the best I've seen in college. I'm just saying Ritch can fit his system to fit a passer but he thrives on speed and I don't think he will be changing that philosophy any time soon especially if T.Pryor signs . Mallet would be more successful in certain spreads but not Coach Ritch and this is no knock on Mallet I want to see him succeed. But if he doesn't perform is the spread which is very possible, the U of M fans will have is head and you know this. Far as WV goes I am a WV man, with that let me say yes all backs for WV was not Fast but they were specialist not every down backs. O Smizzee's was the perfect compliment to 10-5 so is Noel, and with Mc Dizzy and Grady you have a start but I dont think its all there yet. It will take a sec but give him time and Ritch will get the program how he likes it. And to U of M does have speed but lets be real they have speed built for the Bit 10 and that has come to bite them in the a88 the last few season so I think Coach Ritch will get the right speed we need to upgrade to the 21st century.
