Wow when you look at the NAFL Compared to the MCFL there aren't really any comparisons! Each year The MCFl struggles with the small things that could attract solid teams. Why would a team like the Colts, K Eagles or the one time darling RRadars,Or even the power house Lima OH team want to join a league who doesn't even update it's message board. Don't get me wrong the Teams that have joined the premiere(Tongue&Cheek) MCFl are some of the best teams in the country. I see the recaps from previous games during the season, ( I understand it's the individual teams reps to get the stats in) But where are the states from the Freeken championship game I know there where league Reps From at least 70% of the league at that game! Even if there has been a history of teams not getting info out in a timely manner, thats where The MCFL should have had that covered by having a Independent Stats person. The NAFL Championship structure is set up in a way that (unlike The MCFL and other leagues)after there championship game there winner is are arguably the best team in the country spring, summer, or fall. That team doesn't have to Spend thousands of dollars after a long and tenuous season of sacrificing money from loss wages and time with family and friends outside of football to travel to Florida to play in a 1 of 15 fictitious national championship that still gets no real national credence. Not just picking on the MCFl but all leagues need to take note of the Other League not only what they are doing but How they are propelling minor league football to A national level with or without some of the better teams in the country. Take a look at what the NAFL is offering! very impressive indeed, not perfect, nor every will but the MCFl needs to step it's game up!!

Wow Quest,
I might wrong about that. I league do not lose teams because of small issues. Programs leave due to the fact they feel they can not compete with the elite teams such as the Cleveland Lions and Detroit Seminoles. We will soon find out how elite the West Michigan Forces and Detroit Ravens pan out. Prime example; Lima Warriors. They could not give over the Grand Rapids Thunder during their stint in the [glow=red,2,300](M.L.F.A)[/glow]. They go over the [glow=red,2,300](USFA)[/glow] and just destroy teams and they call themselves the best. ‘Get the facts’. Central Ohio Lions (COL) opt out because they were third forth best the [glow=red,2,300](M.C.F.L)[/glow] league. They could not beat the Seminoles or the Cleveland Lions. Those two team could not hack it in a superior league so they decide to take their teams to a lesser league to be collect wins and receive trophies for under achieving. Take away the time travel, to be the best, play the best. That’s when you become Legendary. Now for the teams you’d mentioned on here I can’t talk about. Not enough facts. But it’s might be the same. As all the others.

No one is criticizing any team in the MCFL or any team period. I'm addressing the fact that the NAFL is not a perfect league by any means, I'm stating that the MCFL which clams to be a premiere leagues does not represent as such.

My Question is where are They on the MCFL MB. NOT weather they have been Given to your league Representative?
Wow if the fees are 5k that is pretty step, but teams owners continue to join the NAFL. I understand that there has been a lot of fallout as well which is common place in the Minor League sports. For a league which has such steep fees (if true5k) continues to prosper while leagues that have Some of the Best teams in the contra continue to struggle keeping financially afloat. While the NAFL displays on there web site and offers financial opportunities to participate in a progressive league. Weather these programs are truly beneficial to the team and not just the NAFL I would consider it a benefit. This is not about the teams or the comp in these particular leagues it's about the structure.

Everytime I think I'm out, I get dragged back in. lol
The nafl is in the past for us so I won't go into the whole nafl vs. MCFL thing. Both leagues have their pros and cons as with any league. The nafl offers a huge playoff tourney, but I'm sure the Ravens will spend less going to Miami than Kane County spent traveling for the 1st 3 rounds of the playoffs(not a shot against the Ravens go do what y'all do down there, good luck) the nafl provided travel money after round 3, from what I understand that was something that had been promised in previous years and finally done this year. Travel money may not even be there next year, but who knows.
League choice is all about what best suits your team. Not just talent wise, but also financially. A small market team can have all the talent in the world, but if they don't have the funds to meet the travel requirements then it's pointless. If you have a good season and qualify for the playoffs, but can't afford to travel extensively then a regional league is probably the best bet. If you have the funds to travel then a huge league with national playoffs could work.
That's pretty much all I have to say, other than good luck Ravens.
Lon
p.s. Thanks to whoever called me out, there hasn't been too much worth commenting on lately. Can I go back into my cave now?

As a NAFL Official, I will give you the facts.
We have been in the league for 6 years. The fees were 1000 for most of those years. 2 years ago they were dropped to 500. Last year they were raised to 1000 again with discounts and penalties if you paid them early or late. This year '08 they are 100 per month year round ( 12 months ) with a small discount if you pay all at once. Again back to the $1000.00 range
And you can take this answer to the bank.

$1000 by January 31st, $1200 after, or $100 a month for the year.

Funny, I don't recall coming on here and saying the Lima Warriors are the "best", and I never will say that, otherwise we would be undefeated for all 7 years we have been in existence. Once again, we left the MLFA because at that time, we would have been the only Ohio team in the East. Not wanting to travel to Michigan every other week factored heavily into our decision to go to the USFA. And as you see, other teams feel the USFA is a pretty good fit for them as well. This league will only get better.
