i had high hopes for mallett...but with rodriguez's spread that big oaf won't have a chance at starting...i dont remember which game it was, maybe the first game mallett had to play bc henne was hurt, but does everyone remember how he tripped over himself and fell as he was scrambling wide? also, then when he threw that one touchdown and a few guys were doing their endzone cheering thing, mallett came running into the pile and like jumped into it, and everyone moved out of the way so he like just jumped and fell on the ground. i found that relatively humorous. oh well, good luck to him at texas or ucla or wherever he decides to go, too bad he loses a year of playing though, i don't know if i would make the move. and good luck to manningham and arrington in the draft, they will be greatly missed in ann arbor that's for sure.

Nate; I actually though Mallett could have worked under Coach Rod. He looked in over his head most of the time this season and appeared to develop an attitude problem as the season went on. There was also rumors of Manningham being a problem, too, so with him possibly being a first rounder (or at least a early second rounder) it is best he leaves too. As I said last night on air, I think Arrington could use a final season at UM to enhance his draft position in '09. He played very well in the Cap One Bowl but struggled at times during the season.
PS--Call you Saturday

yeah i was somewhat surprised to see arrington leaving...i can understand manningham, i think he is more developed as a player than arrington...but i think both will have successful careers in the NFL if they can stay away from injury.
if i were mallett though, i would not leave. if you have to fight for the position so be it, but to lose a year of playing because of a new coach sucks. i mean he played a lot during this last season, and i would expect that he would still be the #1 qb at u of m no matter what offense is ran, at least to begin with and as long as u of m doesnt get a better qb like that one kid supposedly deciding between osu and u of m. oh well though, i still see a bright future for u of m with a more modern-style coaching technique.
