So far as Michigan is concerned, the MLFA is dead. They still survive on the west coast, however. They may be able to rebuild in the midwest or east, but not this year.

They still survive on the west coast, however. They may be able to rebuild in the midwest or east, but not this year. Actually, the MLFA that the original poster is referring about is for the most part dead. The Minor League Football " Association" is the league that the Thunder, Punishers, and other competed in. The league is gone as illustrated by their neglected and outdated web site at www.hometeamsonline.com/MLFA . On the west coast is a new MLFA called the Minor League Football " Alliance". It is not a league but an alliance of several west coast leagues for the purpose of conducting a post season tournament for western spring teams. To learn more about the new alliance, see www.hometeamsonline.com/MINORLEAGUEFOOTBALLALLIANCE

The league is gone as illustrated by their neglected and outdated web site at www.hometeamsonline.com/MLFA And yet if one actually calls up the schedule for that league, there are games listed for 2008: hometeamsonline.com/teams/default.asp?u=MLFA&t=c&s=football&p=schedule&d=ALL. (From the pull-down menu of "weeks", choose "all weeks".) All the games listed are for the CVFL (Central Valley Football League), which is out of California. All of which leads me to conclude that they are still around, though in a much truncated form. Although I agree with your original assessment: They are pretty much dead as far as the midwest is concerned, at least for the moment. As to the future--who knows? Yeah, I was aware of them. (I wish they had picked another name with less chance for confusion of acronyms, but be that as it may...) I knew from the context of the original post (reference to the Saints, Giants, etc.) that "semi pro fan" wasn't referring to the Alliance, but rather the Association.
