I must say I have nothing but respect for batman to do what he did!!! No joke; but these Force players and Lions players that are driving ALL the way down/up here to play..... One word, LAME... Now go ahead and cuss me out, but I know alot of you feel that way! But great job Batman in pulling such a big move in the semi-pro world!

It might not be as costly to drive from what I hear. There maybe something in the works for that. Primetime- why is it lame? Because there getting more talent and that good be bad news for some opponents? Sounds pretty good in my ears.

Well, I didnt mean lame on the seminoles part, that was a VERY smart move by a smart man, but be real my friend, to drive 2-3 hours for practice and games in semi pro.... shoot, to the force and lions players that are coming every game is a away game! just my opinion nothing more

Trust me on this one............This was a hurdle we discussed from DAY #1.
It's going to be TOUGH commitment early pre-season for a few guys, but Ted and I organizing some very creative, innovative, and ways (physically and mentally - virtual high tech) - to make sure those guys traveling from great distances - GR, Cleveland, etc..... during the season are equally on the same page physically, mentally, plays, etc. When people hear some of the ideas - It won't be as nearly the impossible logistic nightmare that many believe it to be.
Many great teams over the years have been successful with players faces with the challenge of driving from 2-3 hour or more. The Marlboro Shamrocks won 7 National titles with great talent spread throughout the Eastern Seaboard (New York, Boston, DC, Connecticut, etc). We played those guys in the 98 USFA National Championship and they were a MACHINE. After the game I asked Bob Brennan legendary coach of the Shamrocks, how many times do the SHAMS practice per week - and he said: "ONCE if we're lucky". I was a little stunned and questioned to him how he did it. What was the secret to the magic trick? He said, this is semi-pro football. There is no MAGIC. Guys work, guys have families and THUS, given those facts - players have by nature of the semi-pro game (it being voluntary and non paid) - a built in excuse not to be 100% committed to this level of football. He went on to say (in that legendary BOSTON accent) - I see dez BRAINIAC young coaches every day organize a team and practice 3- 4 times a week....doing absolutely...accomplishing NOTHING. It's a waste of MY time and players time for 15-20 players to run through a few limited new plays, pass out some handouts and brink a few beers. BATMAN - I can drink beer in a BAR and dont feel the need to travel 2 hours to do it. THEN, when it's GAMEDAY and whole team comes together and those 30 guys that were missing during the week or swapped practice days - are suddenly there - WHAT HAVE YOU REALLY ACCOMPLISHED? NOTHING!!!!!!
Brennan, said my job is practicing SMART. This aint college and definitely not the pros....but you still can RESPECT the game enough to hold guys accountable for making a commitment to PLAY the bran of football. Brennan continued - My STRONGEST weapon is I have a commitment from 55 RESPONSIBLE, talented ball players that he treat like MEN but hold those men accountable for making a commitment to play semi-pro football. If you miss 2-3 games then you off the team. Its for your best interest of your other commitment to FAMILY and JOB. If you miss the 2 hour pregame (with no legtimate reason)...you dont PLAY. The Shams coach continued - a player he feels is fully committed to this level of football will LEARN the PLAYS mentally (in his own time), be in premium shape to compete physically every DAY (in his own time), and when was able to UNITE and put it together - for those 2-3 hours during the week or prior to a game - be 100% committed to be THERE, PUNCTUAL - as an efficient and effective part of a football whole. If he's not - REPLACE him with someone just as talented - that is. Players in semi-pro don't commit to things like this because it's a form of disciplining SELF. At that goes against the grain of EGO.
It all speaks to commitment of players and efficiency of coaches. How many team practices have you gone to in semi-pro 2-3 times a week where this bunch of guys show up on Tuesday....and this other bunch of guys shows up on Thursday. You run a few plays, do a little conditioning....you go home ONLY to meet on Saturday gameday with players half the team STILL on different pages. Think about it? Local practice...all guys in the same city still at best your basically just LEARNING PLAYS, SCHEMES, ETC. In stead of butting heads with the innate reality of semi-pro football existence - Guys working, jobs, family, traveling etc. Ted, Hoss and I are working on something a little bit different. The DETROIT SEMINOLES 08 will embody some very new innovative designs to make traveling on players challenged logistically feel comfortable:
Just think about the military and how it operates locally and globally, then you'll kinda understand that we've thought this thing out very intricately and already working on those processes.
We are not dumb and truly understand ULTIMATELY there is no substitute for the timing of offense, defensive unity, etc- which is why we will have a centralized MAIN practice, but guys in our targeted local camps (whether physical or virtual) - will NOT be out of the loop on PLAYS, SCHEMES, FILM, and SCOUT PREP. etc.

Basically if you build it they will come. I know what Ted and Hoss are capable of. I started semi-pro in 99 with the Kzoo Tornadoes and have been around some great minds. In that I've always heard good things about the Seminoles and Batman, so with the 3 combined I can only imagine what is to come.

If you build it, they will come......
Most guys whom have had played semi pro for a few years are ready to committ to a team that not only can excel on the field, but off the field as well. If they are lucky enough to find this, then driving a long distance is manageable. What players don't want to do is waste their time for useless practices or piss poor managed teams.
What Mr. Batman has done was try to create not just a Detroit Seminole team, but a Superhuman Seminole team.
I do applaud him and his efforts in this greatest of feats. Will it be easy, no, however, from reading his posts, he does seem to be very educated and understands the difficulties that lies ahead.
I wanted to wish him good luck in this greatest of feats.

Whats the chances that Batman is going to give up complete control of his "gem"...I don't believe it. Whats the chances of Ted and Hoss driving 6hrs round trip for a 3 hr practice and lasting for 5 mos...dont believe it. Whats the chances of any credible unit coming from Cleveland on a regular basis for practice...don't believe it. And what happened to the rest of the O Line? dont they matter any more? So should we assume Palmer got canned after one year and taking the Seminoles to the Cship game? That certainly breeds loyalty. Things that make you go hmmmmm. Here's another one, I bet all those new guys have been promised "starting" positions.
This sounds like my name is big ted and I'm gonna get even with bad Frank, and more batman smoke and mirrors to pump up the recruiting.
Probably what will happen is...more of the same 20 guys show at practice and 65 at the games. The first loss they have and bat will forget about the "total control" thing and be spewing verbs again. Doubtless bat is the best self promoter in the league, but with that many studs in the stable, theres a chance the seminloles will be reduced to the tadpoles again by the ravens.

Don't believe it, you must be a real pessimist so do not waste your time because Ted and Hoss will show you the door. Tokar and Ted and Frank got it done on O against the Ravens but Hoss watched game film on the Ravens and his D was always 2 steps ahead ahead the Potent Ravens O. I understand from talking to a few guys that their will be gas stipends involved.
Ted and Hoss, most of our players and probably all of the starters loved those two guys. You saw what happen to us after those two left and Frank and Mo Meade and Shemp Hooker and Larry Reeves ran our ship. The ship sank and players had no confidence in Frank. Our key leaders on D, I know for a fact are going to play in Detroit. Butler said no way Tester ever plays in GR for the Force. He loves Hoss and he and Ernest and DP and a few others have already made the commitment to play in Detroit.
Those two will always make you feel good about yourselves and they will make players accountable. Does not matter how many good players you have, Hoss puts people in the right place for their talents and Ted won't have Frank trumping his every move.
Will the Seminoles win every game, only time will tell but the blueprint that Batman has stated and having those two bringing a fun atmosphere and always being fair and now those two working for a good guy like Batman. Knowing those two and the way I saw them treat us, you will earn playing time, not given it.
I know Hoss won't take any chances with your health or if you are hurt. Ask Big slick Rick Nota. Coach took him out and would not let him play till he got clearance that he was healthy. That is the kind of men you guys will be playing for.

Force Schmorce keep drinkin the kool aide, and spendin that gas money, half these guys will not show to practice, then want to play on gameday. Then get beat up by the ravens again.
