One little known fact surrounding Michael Vick’s case is that a dog was instrumental in bringing him to justice.

The Hampton, Virginia police department regularly utilizes narcotics dogs in the parking lots of local clubs on Friday and Saturday evenings. On April 20, 2007, Troy and his handler were doing a routine search at The Royal Suite nightclub when Troy alerted on a particular car. Three ounces of marijuana were found in the vehicle belonging to Davon Boddie, who was then arrested.

Per Allison Good of the Public Information Office with the Hampton Police Division, “If narcotics are found in the vehicle, we do a search of the house.” As it turned out, Boddie was living on the property of Michael Vick. Since Vick’s home was in another jurisdiction, the Virginia State Police came along for the search and that is when the fighting dogs were discovered.

Not bad for a dog that had been on the police force for less than one year. Troy is a three year old Dutch Shepherd, who is certified to detect eight different narcotics. While Good says Troy was “just doing his job,” dogs around the county thank him for his great service to canines everywhere. If he brought national exposure to dog fighting this early in his career, imagine what good he will do in the years to come.

On the Real people, I know we all have our different opinions but there is MORE to this Mike Vick case then we will ever know, dogs wasn't the reason they sent his A5$ to jail. Thats just what they could get him convicted of. They wanted him for drugs couldn't get him on that or get him to give up any names so They came down as hard as they could for DOG FIGHTING .

I don't believe in any man being imprisoned unless it's really needed, but I don't make the laws. Doing what he may have done to those dogs is neither here nor there for me. One of the biggest things in my OPINION and no one has really talked about it has something to do with one of, if not the biggest social groups in the U.S and that is the ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST. Even if he would have beat the case I think that the Falcons would have been put in a difficult position by the Animal Rights group and eventually would have had to find a way to release Vick. Same thing with the court system, the courts had to do something or they their hands would have been pushed also if nothing was done. Animal rights Activist are very strong.
